The classic Kashmir circuit
First-time visitors almost always follow Srinagar → Gulmarg → Pahalgam → Sonamarg (order can flex). This covers Dal Lake and Mughal gardens, the Gulmarg Gondola, Lidder Valley meadows (Betaab, Aru, Baisaran), and Sonamarg’s Thajiwas Glacier views.
Five days works well for a focused loop. Six days feels more relaxed — ideally with two nights in Pahalgam so sightseeing is not rushed.
Sample 5-day Kashmir itinerary
Day 1: Arrive Srinagar — Dal Lake shikara, optional houseboat night, old city or Boulevard walk.
Day 2: Full-day Gulmarg — Gondola Phase 1 (Phase 2 optional), meadows or snow play by season, return Srinagar.
Day 3: Drive to Pahalgam via Pampore saffron fields — evening by the Lidder.
Day 4: Pahalgam local sightseeing — Betaab, Aru, Baisaran (union cab / pony as needed).
Day 5: Sonamarg day trip or direct departure from Srinagar depending on flight time. We adjust this to your arrival/departure slots.
Sample 6-day Kashmir itinerary
Keep Days 1–2 as Srinagar + Gulmarg. Spend Days 3–4 based in Pahalgam for unhurried valleys. Use Day 5 for Sonamarg (Thajiwas) returning to Srinagar. Day 6: light Srinagar morning (Nishat/Shalimar or tulip garden in season) and departure.

Should I stay overnight in Gulmarg?
Day trips from Srinagar work for many travellers. Overnight Gulmarg is better in peak snow season or if you want early Gondola access with less queue stress.
